Join us for our first ever DHC Movie Night! Tonight we'll be screening Harlan County, USA-an Academy Award winning documentary that examines the labor struggles and exploitation of impoverished mine workers and their wives in Appalachia in the 1970s.
It is widely regarded as one of the best documentaries of all time, and is an in depth look into the reality of workers rights advocacy. Part of the Criterion Collection, this highly influential film was directed by Barbara Kopple, the first woman to win two Academy Awards for Best Documentary.
