Lichen are all around us, yet we hardly notice them most of the time. They are symbiotic life forms, sometimes described as tiny communities and even summed up by several prominent lichenologists with the sentence 'lichens are what happened when fungi learned to farm'.

From their interdependent nature , long history, extremophile abilities and vast range up to their pollution detecting function,  culinary and medicinal value and even artistic and spiritual elements,  this DHC session will be a brief overview of all things lichen. These tiny,  mysterious creatures will blow your mind and enhance your understanding of the world around you.
